29/09/09 - New Homes for Cherry Tree and Essex Road
Midlands based contractor Thomas Vale Construction and Trent & Dove Housing have recently celebrated the completion of 8 new homes at Essex Road, and Cherrytree Road. Janet Dean MP handed over the keys and a bouquet of flowers to new residents Mr & Mrs Papkovics.
Each of the new homes incorporate high grade insulation and eco technology, including Solar Panels to ensure the properties achieve the highest environmental standards. The solar panels will provide the residents with 60% of their annual hot water needs helping to reduce fuel poverty.John Jackson, Chairman of Trent & Dove Housing said,“I am delighted that these modern, new homes will be saving money on families’ fuel bills, as well as being better for the environment!”
Ian Cox, Partnership & Development Director at Thomas Vale Construction, added, “Through close partnership working with the development team, we were able to complete the homes 6 weeks ahead of programme, and within the budget”
The new homes have been constructed on the site of former lock-up garage courts which had previously been vandalised and redundant. The new homes included in this £1m development will help to improve the local area and have been made available for rent to local families.
