18/09/09 - Thomas Vale Complete Brand New Extra Care Scheme
Midlands based contractor, Thomas Vale Construction, Bromsgrove District Housing Trust celebrate as the official opening ceremony to mark the successful completion of the brand new premier Extra Care Housing Scheme at Gilbert Court in Bromsgrove took place.
The new housing development, made up of apartments and bungalows will allow older people to live independently in a secure environment. According to the Housing Association, a quarter of Bromsgrove’s population is over 60 and is set to rise. The extra care housing will enable residents to enjoy a range of on-site facilities as well as a flexible care and support service. Ian Cox, Partnership and Development Director for Thomas Vale Construction added: “We are delighted to have completed this project as it adds to our growing experience in the ‘Extra Care’, and ‘Care Homes’ Sector.”
The new £2.6 million development consists of new apartments and bungalows including a communal hall and reception area, hairdressing and beauty salon, arts and craft room, external works and landscaped gardens as well as 24 hour on site call out.
