31/10/2011 - Retail Division awarded prestigious award

Thomas Vale Construction has been awarded two prestigious awards on behalf of the works being undertaken in partnership with major blue-chip retail client, Tesco Stores Ltd.

Working on projects across the region, the company and its Retail Division, has been presented a ‘Tesco Values Award’ and a ‘Blue Award’ for its exceptional commitment to working as a team whilst undertaking complicated and potentially disruptive works to a live Tesco store in Bedfordshire, as well as their consistent, reliable and collaborative approach in delivery great customer projects in demanding situations.

Paul McCormick, Divisional Director adds: “This award from Tesco Stores Ltd and Rider Levett Bucknall demonstrates the hard work and commitment from the project delivery team in ensuring strict programme adherence, integration with the store and its operations, our attitude as a team and our on-site liaison with stakeholders and customers.

“We are delighted to be working with Tesco and the projects are allowing us to have an invaluable insight into the Tesco brand as well as enabling us to share ideas and consistently drive forward best practice.

“We are very proud to have been recognised in this way for our work and look forward to our continuing relationship.”

The Tesco Values and Key Performance Indicator Awards sit at the heart of their business and aid the provision and delivery of their goals and core purpose in relation to excellent customer service.

The Values were developed in 1997 and they still represent the business as it stands today and the form part of a 5 Year Refresh Programme to deliver store upgrades across the country.

Tesco is one of the world’s largest retailers, with operations in 14 countries, a UK turnover of £40.7billion per annum and employ around 300,000 people across the country - making them the UK's largest private-sector employer.
