A 2.0 million nursing extension to Innage Grange care home in Bridgnorth has been formally handed over by Thomas Vale Construction to Coverage Care, ready to welcome its first residents next month.
Project manager for Thomas Vale Construction, Paul Davies said: “Despite the awful weather earlier in the year, the new extension to Innage Grange has been completed on time, including the landscaping, ready to be furnished by Coverage Care.”
David Coull, Chief Executive of Coverage Care said: “The new extension at Innage Grange will provide a total of 83 en-suite bedrooms, providing a comprehensive programme of residential and nursing care in a modern care setting, enhancing the care services we provide in Bridgnorth.”
“Innage Grange is our first home to have dual registration as both a care home and a nursing home, designed to provide the highest standards of care for older people” added Mr Coull.
The formal opening of the new home is scheduled for early in January 2011, when Philip Dunne MP has kindly agreed to officially open the new 31 bed nursing extension to Innage Grange.
The new extension will create 30 new jobs for suitably qualified nursing, care and support staff, with the added benefit that the home is within walking distance from the town centre. Coverage Care cares for1600 mainly elderly people in Shropshire on a not for profit basis, operating from 16 care centres and employing 670 highly trained staff.
