Mark Tynan, Trainee Quantity Surveyor from Thomas Vale Constructions’ Aston Division, has received a Personal Development and Achievement Award at the Birmingham City University Student Awards for Excellence.
Mark has recently passed year 2 of his Quantity Surveying Degree being undertaken at BCU, and about to commence year 3.
The awards, hosted by Steve Vickers of Birmingham City Council were held on the 9th November 2010 and were to celebrate the collaborative working partnership between Birmingham City Councils’ Urban Design and Birmingham City University and reward the students currently studying construction at BCU.
Councillor Randall Brew, Cabinet Member for Finance introduced the awards and presented the students with Certificates and Bull Ring Gift Vouchers.
Thomas Vale Construction, Urban Design and two other contractors sponsored the event and each partner nominated a trainee from their organisations.
Wayne Brown, Senior QS, Aston Division said: “I am pleased to be able to nominate Mark for the Personal Development and Achievement Award for his exemplary contribution to the Surveying Team and Aston division.
Mark has performed his role with exemplary aptitude and shows true potential to be a Quantity Surveyor on his own projects ahead of full qualification.”
