17/11/10 - Local School Officially Opens

The Heathfield Educational Trust is delighted to confirm the completion of the first phase of a four-phase classroom improvement plan today. Phase one is a six room block sited alongside Pre-School and will be for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. The building is equipped with the latest ICT provision and includes a library area.

Local building contractor Thomas Vale Construction and architects Godwin Austen Johnson were appointed to design and build the new development which is now complete.

Headmaster Mr. Brierly says: “Heathfield School is delighted to be moving in to a new classroom block which will provide 21st century facilities for our younger pupils. Thomas Vale Construction and Godwin Austen Johnson have both provided an outstanding service and the school looks forward to working with them again at the earliest opportunity.”

Paul Burchell, Director at Thomas Vale Construction said: “We are proud to be associated with the scheme and feel it only helps to enhance the impact and reputation of Heathfield School in the local community.”

Heathfield School is an independent day school for boys and girls aged five to 16 years with its own on-site day nursery for babies from three months and a pre school facility for children of rising 3-4 years of age. The school enjoys a rural location in Wolverley, on the outskirts of Kidderminster yet is only 10 minutes drive from Stourbridge. The new building will enhance the learning experience of lower junior school pupils and allow Heathfield to meet increasing demand for school places.
