09/11/10 - Mount Pleasant Pupils Check on Site Progress

Midlands based Thomas Vale Construction gave exclusive access to pupils of Mount Pleasant Primary School, and took them on a grand tour of their new school.

Paul Bennett, Thomas Vale Contracts Manager at the school, took the pupils aged between 6 – 11 years around a planned route in and around the site. Paul spoke with the children, explaining the building works as well as answering any questions the children had. Both pupils and teachers attending the site tour found it to be both an enjoyable and informative experience as the school theme for the term focuses on building structures.

Mount Pleasant Primary School are undergoing works to have a new building extension attached to the current school, which will include new classrooms, new kitchen and dining hall, along with external building works. Thomas Vale has also constructed a new fenced play area enabling the children to play safe while work continues. Paul Bennett, Contracts Manager at Thomas Vale commented:“The children absolutely loved it! They were amazed with all the works being carried out, and had lots of questions. Judging from the feedback the school gave, the pupils are very enthusiastic about moving into their new school.”
