10/11/09 - Prestigious health care Centre has its Official Handover
A new £800K Primary Care Centre in Blythe Bridge has been officially handed over. The new project has been developed by award winning Midlands based contractor Thomas Vale Construction built on behalf of NHS North Staffordshire.
Janet Butterworth, Head of Primary Care Commissioning and Development at NHS North Staffordshire, said:
“The residents of Blythe Bridge will now have access to a modern, health centre in the heart of the village in purpose-built premises with its own car park.”
The new Primary Care includes three GP consulting rooms, one practice nurse treatment room and accommodation for the practice to assist in the training of future GPs. In addition NHS North Staffordshire has accommodation which will hold Health Living sessions and baby clinics as well as district nurse treatment clinics.
Steve Ball, Project Manager for Thomas Vale Construction, commented:
“Thomas Vale are delighted to be involved in the construction of the new Primary Care Trust centre in Blythe Bridge. This project is further evidence of Thomas Vale’s commitment in working closely with the community and end user groups enabling all parties to achieve there aspirations. We are sure that the all members of local community will benefit from the new facilities.”
Local company Thomas Vale has a turnover of £214million and 830 employees. At the beginning of November they celebrated a record month with over £52 million of new projects secured, bringing the companies forward workload in excess of £550 million.
