09/05/11 - Thomas Vale Construction plant new Oak to celebrate the opening of Clifton upon Teme
On Saturday 30th April, Thomas Vale Construction was invited to join representatives of Clifton upon Teme Parish Council to celebrate the official opening of the extended leisure and play area in the village.
In 2010 Thomas Vale completed the construction of 10 houses and 4 bungalows on Pound Lane in Clifton for client WM Housing. A mixed tenure development in this idyllic rural location, the new properties compliment their surroundings and have proved extremely popular.
Following the completion of the scheme, which was located adjacent to the existing play area, section 106 funds were utilised in part to help develop the incumbent facilities, providing additional play equipment and a skate park for older children. Additional monies were raised from the hard work and campaigning of the local community.
The official opening, accompanied by a pig roast and live entertainment from local youngsters, commenced in style with a ribbon cutting ceremony by local MP Harriet Baldwin. Thomas Vale sponsored the planting of a new Sessile Oak tree to replace one which had to be removed during the construction process. A great event enjoyed by all, the new leisure and play area promises to provide a real legacy for generations of future Clifton residents.
