16/05/10 - Lancaster House Fun Day raises over £650
Midlands Largest Privately owned contractor Thomas Vale Construction, Sandwell Homes and tenants all enjoyed a fun filled day at the new and improved Lancaster House, while also raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Tenants were invited to the Lancaster House fun day which took place in their new communal area. The event was packed with Tombola stalls, Bric-a-Brac stalls, Book stalls, and a massive raffle which included prizes such as televisions.
Altogether tenants raised £328, which was then doubled by Thomas Vale bringing the total to around £660. Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support has grown to become the largest cancer care and support charity in the UK.
Lancaster House has been a major project for Sandwell Homes, the project has seen many awards including, Tenant liaison Officer of the Year at the TPAS Awards, where Daryll Pritchett from Thomas Vale, won for her hard work at Lancaster House, the project has also achieved Demonstration programme status by WMMCE.

Thomas Vale Construction has had an achieving year so far, with over £52 million of new projects secured, bringing the companies forward workload in excess of £550 million. The successful contractor has a turnover of £220million and up to 800 employees.
