26/03/09 - New Homes for Stapenhill

A brick laying ceremony was held this week to celebrate the start of work on a £1 million project to build 8 new affordable houses at Essex Road and Cherry tree Road, Stapenhill, Burton upon Trent.

The project which commenced on site earlier this month is being constructed by Midlands based contractors Thomas Vale and funded by Trent & Dove Housing Limited in partnership with the Homes & Communities Agency. The new semi detached homes are on two former redundant lock-up garage sites approximately 1 mile apart from one another. The homes will all have high environmental credentials, which will benefit all new residents in reducing their future running costs. Solar Thermal Panels which convert the energy from the sun into hot water will be used on all of the properties. The project is being

The homes are due for completion in autumn 2009 and will be let to households through Choice Based Lettings
