27/03/08 - Phase One in the Midlands
Building Magazine recently hosted the first Midlands based Phase One networking party. The event held at ‘The Custard Factory’ in the Digbeth area of Birmingham attracted over 100 construction professionals.
Members of Thomas Vale, one of the main sponsors of the event, attended to get to know their peers working across all areas of construction including Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Contractors and Engineers.
The audience listened in admiration to speeches from the successful David Bucknall, the Chair of Bucknall Austin about his many years in the industry and 29 year old Neil Edginton who revealed to the curious young professionals how he had come to set up Build Ability, the contractor that is building the £75m Cube development in the city.
The evening was a huge success with several lucky winners scooping impressive prizes from the raffle including magnum of champagne from Shepherd Construction, tickets to Thomas Vales golf day and a European break for two from BuildAbility. £240 was raised for The Princes Trust Charity.
