21/06/10 - Thomas Vale Raised £1000

Thomas Vale Construction has raised £1000 for Compton Hospice by taking part in ‘It’s a Knockout’ at West Park in Wolverhampton. The team of 8 spent the day competing against other local businesses in a wide selection of humiliating, inflatable games based on the original BBC TV series.

Sammy Sidhu, Team Captain from Thomas Vale Construction said: “Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves at the event! I would like to say a very big thank-you to all of the team members for all of their hard work which paid off and resulted in us placing third. We will also be looking to come first next year!”

It’s a Knockout was a British television gameshow broadcast on BBC One. Commentators included Eddie Waring, David Vine and Stuart Hall.

It featured teams representing a town or city competing tasks in absurd games, generally dressed in large foam rubber suits. Games were played in the home town’s park, with weather often turning grassland into mud.

Simon Cater, Corporate Fundraiser at “I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for contributing to making the event such a success by entering a team in the It’s a Knockout competition. The weather was fantastic and I hope that you all enjoyed getting soaked and battling across the various obstacles! I am so grateful that you choose to support us and join in the fun.

Compton Hospice relies so much on the help of local people and companies to provide support to our patients and their families and all of you did us proud – thank you so much. We are already looking towards running the event again next year and hope that you may consider joining us once again!”

The day was a success, resulting in Thomas Vale placing third out of 12 teams. Bonus points were also awarded to Thomas Vale for the best dance routine.
