Work included complete refurbishment of the existing building, a new build extension and the installation of a new mezzanine floor to the school hall. The school can also proudly boast a brand new 'MUGA' football pitch.
The school now has places for 210 pupils and a nursery. It combines state of the art facilities and innovative design in order to become a focal point for the community of Horninglow.
Deputy Leader and Lead Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Ian Parry said: "This opening represents a new lease of life for Horninglow Primary School. By building on existing solid foundations, we are ensuring the school and community as a whole is getting great value for money, whilst also investing in the pupils' education."
Paula Evans, Headteacher at Horninglow said: "The transformation of the school from an Infant to Primary will enable us to ensure the continuity of learning for all the pupils. The building work has provided us with facilities that are state of the art and give us scope to develop the pupil's learning for the future. The school can now be an integral part of the community for years to come."
Malcolm Walasiewicz, Contracts Manager at Thomas Vale Construction, said: "We are proud to have been appointed main contractor for the refurbishment and construction of Horninglow Primary School.
