Midlands based contractor Thomas Vale Construction, recognized by the Sunday Times as one of the Top 100 Companies in the UK, look strong after 140 years of business as they confirm 10 new jobs within their Traditional and Building and Maintenance division worth over £10m.

Works are due to start in the next month and cover an array of projects with the largest being Blakenhall Community centre for Wolverhampton County Council. Other jobs include contracts for Birmingham City Council, Staunton on Wye in Hereford, Watling House near Cannock for Staffordshire Council, Bleak House Library for Sandwell, New Amenity Facilities at Kingswinford Travelers Site for Dudley Council, King David School in Worcestershire, work for Warwick University and a Goals Soccer Centre in Osterley and a new police custody suite for Staffordshire County Council. Having secured a number of new projects in the last six months, the forward four-year order book on various Public and Private sector partnerships remains at around the £500 million mark. Our positive cash balances and zero borrowing put us in an excellent position to grow the business organically or even consider acquisitions as opportunities present themselves”Thomas Vale’s New Build Division have also recently secured a variety of new projects, their largest scheme is with Sandwell Council and Housing 21 providing an 87 bed ‘extra care’ scheme for the elderly at Queensway, Brandhall, Oldbury worth £10.5m. The project commenced last spring and is due to complete towards the end of this year. The Strategic Projects division looks at starting one of their biggest projects this year for Birmingham City Council worth around £40m. The work is due to start this autumn and will involve a new build construction of offices for the Council. The division has also recently won other projects worth over £3m, the largest job being Bradley Stoke Community School worth £3.6m which looks to start in August. This will involve the Construction of a new two storey Post-16 Centre extension and a new single storey Dance Studio and Changing extension, together with the associated external works, drainage and services.Thomas Vale Construction strives to improve the surrounding communities within all of the divisions. This particularly applies to the Housing Regeneration Projects due to the close nature in which they work with the tenants. These projects help to provide better housing for a variety of people as well as build relationships with local authorities. Currently the division is looking strong as they hit year 6 out of 7 on one of their biggest current contracts worth £25m for Birmingham Decent Homes, the job involves re-wiring, replacement kitchens and bathrooms for a range of properties and is due to complete in 2010. Other projects such as Wolverhampton Decent Homes, year 2 of 4, Hereford Housing, year 1 and Leominster Housing combine a value of over £20m over the next few years and contribute to the increasing work load of Thomas Vale Construction.
