30/01/08 - New Homes for Ilkeston

Thomas Vale Construction together with Eastern Shires Housing Association and Three Valleys Housing Association hosted an event on 16th January 2008 to celebrate the completion of 25 affordable new homes at Cotmanhay Road, Ilkeston. The event included a Tree Planting Ceremony which Councillor Mrs Eileen Knight – The Mayor of Erewash attended to do the honours. Other attendees included The Chairman of Montfort Housing Association and The Chief Executive of The Three Valleys Housing Association.

The scheme is the first development to be completed utilising a newly formed partnership between Eastern Shires Housing Group and Three Valley’s Housing Association.

"ESHA were very pleased to work with Thomas Vale on this project – it is the first of its kind in Erewash. The quality and design of the homes is very good and the project finished earlier than planned despite delays in acquiring the site which reflects well on the good working relationship between ourselves and the Housing Corporation"
Anthony Riley, Director of Business Development

Thomas Vale Construction completed the £1.8m project in December 2007. The new homes are on the site of a former Petrol Garage, and provide 25 new dwellings, consisting of 7 houses and 18 apartments. The new homes will be available for Rent and Shared Ownership. The scheme has been financed with the help of funding from the Housing Corporation as part of the National Affordable Housing Programme 2006-2008, with the encouragement of Erewash Borough Council.

“The extensive partnership working pre-contract has resulted in a high quality of design and construction on site”
Ian Cox, Partnership & Development Director, Thomas Vale Construction
