08/12/10 - Construction Starts on Sports College
Work starts on site the new £1.2 million state of the art sports hall at Ellowes Hall Sports College in Dudley.
The pupils along with, Head Teacher Andy Griffiths, local MP Ian Austin, The Leader of Dudley Council Anne Millward and Richard Green of Thomas Vale Construction all congregated at the proposed site to cut the first piece of turf.
Richard Green, Director at Thomas Vale Construction said: “We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting new scheme and are looking forward to providing the students, staff and local community with a new state of the art sports hall”.
With over 1500 square metres of interior space and at a cost of £1,2 million the new sports facilities will be an incredible investment in the education of the students and the health of the local community.
The project is expected to take one year, and the first students will begin to use the Sports Hall in Autumn 2011.
