03/08/09 - New post 16 centre for Bradley Stoke Community School

Local Contractors Thomas Vale Construction and South Gloucestershire Council look set to start on the new £3.6 million project on Bradley Stoke Community School. The work is due to start this August and will comprise of a new two storey Post-16 centre extension, a new single storey dance studio and changing room facilities.

The schools application for funding to the Learning and Skills Council was approved in March, shortly after the planning permission for the new sixth form centre was granted allowing the school to proceed in choosing the contractors to complete the project. Thomas Vale Construction was awarded the contract which will provide the school with a range of new facilities to enable an excellent standard of education.Thomas Vale Construction plan to get involved with the school once the new term begins in early September to provide the staff and pupils of Bradley Stoke School with safety talks, ‘Expectations Workshops’, seminars and updates on the progression of the works being done to the school. We have carefully selected the materials for the buildings to reflect this with a ‘green Sedum’ Roof for the post 16 centre and natural timber boarding to the main entrance area, the design will Also incorporate a passive ventilation system to the classroom areas”
