31/08/08 - £2.2m Office Building to kick start New Businesses

A turf cutting ceremony was held this week to celebrate the start of construction work by contractors Thomas Vale on a Basepoint Business Centre on Vale Park, Evesham.

Basepoint develops and operates business centres specifically designed to house small and growing enterprises of all types, often in partnership with local authorities and regional development agencies seeking to stimulate employment and economic activity. Most of its wholly owned business centres begin as new-build projects, ensuring licensees receive the highest quality accommodation and can choose from a variety of incubation, office and workshop units of varying sizes, as well as having access to a selection of communal facilities.

Basepoint currently owns and operates twenty-one business centres distributed around the South East, South and Midlands, with more at varying stages of planning and construction. In recent years the company has additionally leveraged its core skills to manage business centres on behalf of third parties.

The £2.2 m project has been funded by The ACT Foundation which will retain ownership of the building, Basepoint is a a wholly owned subsidiary of the ACT Foundation. Basepoint provides flexible easy in, easy out licence agreements that reduce the financial commitment for licensees, providing a welcome kick-start for new businesses.

The 3 storey office block is due for completion in March 2009.
