06/04/10 - WE RAISED £700!!
We would like to thank everyone who helped raise money for Help for Heroes by participating in the dress down day, and that everyone’s efforts are much appreciated. Through Dress Down Day and company donations, Thomas Vale has managed to raise £700.
Thomas Vale’s very own two employees; Dave Bradshaw and Adam Gardener have volunteered to take on 3 Peaks challenge. In just 24 hours they will undertake the ambitious challenge of climbing Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon.
The pair are part of a group of 30, most of which are ex Staffordshire regiment soldiers. With just less than 2 weeks to go until the climb the team are hoping to raise a combined total of £20’000.
Dave Bradshaw, Thomas Vale Construction said: “As a former Staffordshire regiment soldier and gulf war veteran, myself and the other participants have experience of what it’s like to fight and live day to day on the front line. By raising this money we hope to help some of the injured soldiers that return from these conflicts, suffering not only from physical but mental wounds, and help them on the road to recovery.”
Help for Heroes raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country. They believe that anyone who volunteers to serve in time of war, knowing that they may risk all, is a hero. For more information on Help for Heroes please visit: www.helpforheroes.org.uk
Dave and Adam will be doing the ‘3 peaks challenge on the 9th, 10th and 11th April 2010, if anyone would like to sponsor them please contact Dave Bradshaw: dave.bradshaw@thomasvale.com
