Paul Morrell, the Chief Construction Advisor, has publically stated that he is minded to mandate BIM for central Government contracts within five years. The Government‟s Plan for Growth, published alongside Budget 2011, highlighted the critical importance of an efficient construction industry to the UK economy.

The construction sector is a major part of the UK economy. Building Information Modelling and Management (BIMM) is a phenomenon that is all around the construction industry at the moment, especially since the Government published its new Construction Procurement Strategy in the summer in which it seeking to mandate the use of BIM technology on public sector construction projects by 2016.

Achieving Passivhaus
