Bath Southgate Station

Contract Value: £10.5 million

This project incorporates the large scale restoration to the public areas of the Grade 1 listed train and bus station designed by the prolific Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Our scheme sits in the heart of the £360 million, 9-acre SouthGate scheme to regenerate Baths city centre. A brand new feature glazed restaurant will be developed above the existing arches as well reinstatement of the historic southern canopy which runs along 3 of the existing retail units. The old station masters residence, Avonside House is gradually slipping into the river Avon; specialist propping techniques have been used to pin back the foundations before restoration of the house can continue. A hypodermic needle pick by specialists had to be carried out before we could enter the building as well as graffiti cleaning and general clearing out.
