Whitefriars Housing Block Improvement Scheme

Contract Value - £635,000

 

This project incorporates external and internal improvement works across six residential blocks in Coventry.

 

The majority of works are taking place at Dewis house, a sixteen storey block of flats situated above a two storey retail and commercial premises sited in a busy shopping centre. All six blocks are subject to the installation of new doors, door entry systems and internal painting.

 

Further to discussion with the client and residents, Thomas Vale recognised a requirement for a community room within one of the blocks. Working collaboratively with integrated supply chain partners it was possible to provide this facility as an added value element of works to the client without any additional project cost.

Sandwell Decent Homes Partnership

Contract Value: £180million

Construction work commenced in September 2006 but prior to this Thomas Vale Construction personnel were integrated into the tenant action groups and there were regular progress meetings with client and tenant representatives. Dedicated liaison officers were appointed and there was involvement of tenants with regard to choices/options.

Wolverhampton Decent Homes Programme

Contract Value: £150 million

This 4 year programme commenced in April 2007 and involves both Decent Homes and a programme of external/estate upgrading to some 35,000 properties. Thomas Vale Construction following a vigorous selection process were selected to be one of three organisations to undertake the work and over a 6 month period prior to commencing works on site have invested significant time and resources to developing the team, which has proved invaluable and allowed knowledge sharing across all stakeholders.

Birmingham Decent Homes Programme

Contract Value: £500 million
(Birmingham Construction Partnership)

Birmingham Construction Partnership comprises Thomas Vale plc working collaboratively with Birmingham Urban Design and two other construction partners to undertake a comprehensive programme of construction maintenance works planned over the next 5-7 years, with an overall value of more than £500 million. The works are across a number of regeneration sectors such as education and housing stock, with a significant proportion being Decent Homes.

The whole ethos of the project from the outset was to exceed the re-thinking Construction and Achieving Excellence Agendas.

Midland Heart

Contract Value: £3.8 million

Thomas Vale Construction were appointed by Midland Heart in 2010 to undertake a Kitchen and Bathroom refurbishment programme across the Midlands.

During the first year, we completed work in a total of 318 properties consisting of mostly Kitchen replacements with a small number of Bathroom replacements and upgrades in Stoke on Trent, Stafford, Cannock, Rugely, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, Birmingham, Halesowen and Dudley. Throughout the remainder on the contract we will be working on over 500 additional properties.

Jephson Homes Housing Association

Contract Value: £14 million
