Partnering is a cooperative collaborative relationship where the objective must be to jointly provide and deliver an enhanced service to the benefit of all customers and stakeholders. Some 80% of all work undertaken by Thomas Vale is now on a Partnering basis.

Our Experience

We have extensive experience of working with a diverse range of Clients (including many local authorities & other public bodies / organisations) under a Partnering Agreement to maximise Best Value. We have found that an open- book collaborative approach ensures that the cooperation between Client, Contractor & Supply Chain runs smoothly, and that the coordination between all parties is carried out effectively.

Birmingham Construction Partnership

In 2004/5 Thomas Vale Construction were selected with two other companies to form the Birmingham Partnership. In 2006 and 2007, the Partnership won the Contract Journal’s Long Term Partnering Award.

With the Partnership well under way, Thomas Vale are set to help deliver more than £500m of construction by 2010 in Education, Health and Leisure, Social Care and Housing.

The Partnership is consistently delivering construction projects to time and to budget with fewer defects and accidents on site.

In 2005, Thomas Vale were selected to enter into a 3-5 year Partnership arrangement with a view to establishing a substantial construction team to work wit their in-house design teams on an extensive programme of New Build and refurbishment under the Early Years and Sure Start Initiatives.

Many schemes for the Partnership have been nominated and won awards for the quality and usage of the buildings.

The aim of this £42m MoD Prime Project was to construct new facilities to locate a number of integrated Project Teams together under the Smart Acquisition Initiative.

Thomas Vale worked with PPP and Prime Contracting to deliver its vision to ensure that major projects were delivered on time and to specification, providing value for money.

A three way Partnership allows a focus on Best Practice across a wide range of issues.

Pre-completion at St Jude's School, Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton City Council

A complex and demanding project undertaken at St. Judes CE Primary School on a Partnership basis has proven to be an exceptional build and collaboration between the City Council and Thomas Vale.

The £4.5m project was the first new building of a school in the city for 20 years.

Again, our approach has been greatly valued, working with all Stakeholders. We have been able to bring many tangible benefits for our Clients.
