Thomas Vale Supports Local Community Centre
Midlands based contractor Thomas Vale Construction has shown their support in Lanesfield, Wolverhampton by installing a new state of the art kitchen in Hilton Hall Community Centre.
The popular community centre in Lanesfield, was used by around 100 people a week for a wide range of activities including Judo clubs, plays and tea dances before it was closed by the council bosses last year.
Since the closure, a group of volunteers formed the Hilton Hall Community Association who campaigned for the reopening of the centre. The group has now taken over the lease and repair duties from Wolverhampton Council.By popular demand the community centre is now undergoing a much needed makeover and looks set to reopen later on in the year.
As well as installing a new kitchen, Thomas Vale Construction has improved toilet/shower rooms on the ground level which have been newly plastered and painted.
Paul Dockerill, Divisional Director at Thomas Vale Construction commented; "Thomas Vale are proud to support the efforts and hard work of the community in regenerating Hilton Hall. The effort and energy of the community deserves all the support it can from people and local businesses. The Hilton Hall team is an inspiration to all community projects that involve people who care about the area's they live in"
This much loved community centre is on its way to reopening its doors to the local community of Lanesfield, however there is still a lot that needs doing. The building is relying on funding from the local community to bring it up to a decent standard and the group is always in need of more volunteers.
