Sutton Clock Tower
Having been broken for several years, repairing the clock that sits at the top of Sutton Coldfield Town Hall was a priority for the local community. The clock tower had fallen into disrepair - the masonry above the clock face was in danger of collapsing.
The prominent position of the structure and its close proximity to a large volume of the general public using the facilities below which includes a theatre and the local Neighbourhood Office meant that the works took place behind totally sheeted scaffold. The top of the clock tower was dismantled and re-built brick by brick in order to restore its stability. The clock face was repaired and the entire structure was cleaned by specialist contractors, Crofts.
