Retail & Lifestyle

Thomas Vale’s success in complex retail construction, shop fitting and refurbishment is due to our ability to ensure high quality management with an exceptional track record for delivery. Our ability to identify bottle necks, speed up times and fast track projects without compromising quality is greatly valued by our clients.

Our approach allows us to provide an unequalled and managed solution to ensure a high quality project for our Clients.

While the urban renaissance continues at pace, Thomas Vale prides itself on the ability to accomodate complicated working arrangements and high specification schemes, taking 100% footprint and occupied sites as a given.

From high profile schemes to small works, all of our projects are underpinned by a flexible and collaborative approach that encourages regeneration and, wherever possible, allows trading to continue undisturbed.

Primark, Telford Contract Value: £2.7million

Construction of a shell only 2 storey extension for Telford Shopping Centre.

Minor demolition of timber frame buildings, construction of major service diversions, CFA pile foundations, steel frame, Sarnafil single ply membrane to roof, insulated cladding and brickwork and power floated concrete floors.

All works were undertaken in a live shopping complex. Access for deliveries and the site team was severely restricted as we shared the car park with the shopping centre, some out of hours work was necessary while we installed underground services and drainage.

WM Morrison's Supermarkets Contract Value: £1.5million (per store)
The team have considered the logistical elements of the scheme and have ensured smooth project progression and the prevention of disruption to warehouse activity.
Works are taking place almost exclusively out of hours, minimising disruption to the daily operational activities of the public store. Constant liaison with store management and all relevant personnel have assisted the
site team in meeting critical deadlines. Through the use of collaborative planning exercises Thomas Vale personnel have formed strong working relationships with the client, professional team and supply chain.
HSBC Bank Contract Value: £6.5million

Partnership rolling programme of branch refurbishment and corporate re-imaging into customer/public facing informal spaces including revised spatial planning, corporate style/colour, radiused bulkheads, new on-line banking areas, interview rooms and 24 hour ATM lobby with automatic shutters.

Phased programme to ensure continuation of trading in logistically complex town/city centre locations often with restriction access.

Spiral Cafe, Birmingham Contract Value: Under £1million

This was an innovative and complex design and build project given the irregular geometry of the curved structure. It was built in a city centre location and busy shopping area with no site deliveries after 7am. Extensive design development ensured delivery within budget without compromising Client design aspirations.

We used skilled craftsmen utilising innovative construction techniques and a full off-site mock-up fabrication to enable design to be finalised prior to erection.
