Demolition of an existing Primary School including asbestos removal. The main build was a traditional construction of strip foundations, brick/blockwork superstructure with beam and block ground floor and PCC planks to the first floor level, the roof was split at three levels. Firstly at two storey level over the accommodation there was a metsec curved roof, the link at ground floor level was a traditional pitch roof and finally the reception/treatment area at a high level ground floor was mono pitch Parralam timber construction. All roof finishes was kalzip with an aluminium bull nose eaves detail. The building consisted of 20 bedrooms with on-suite and nurse call assistance, consulting suites for doctors/nurses/physio and meetings, offices, ADL kitchens, full catering kitchen, dining/day space area, physio room, staff room and reception area including all ancillary rooms. The project was unique as it was the first intermediate care facility to be built in the UK (Under the P21 Scheme). |

The works consist of the demolition of an existing house, Orchard House and the clearance of an adjacent Builders’ Yard, followed by the construction of a two and three storey 65-bed care home together with lounge facilities, offices, kitchen facilities, laundry stores and plant room. Japanese knotweed has been identified on the site and Thomas Vale are working in close consultation with the Environmental Agency to ensure its removal complies with current Environmental Legislation. |

Regeneration of an inner city brownfield site, adjacent to the Cauldon Canal, to provide a new state of the art Primary Care Centre. The three-storey construction combines three local Doctor’s Surgeries and also provides an integral Pharmacy Facility. The objective was to provide a modern care centre for the people of Shelton in Stoke on Trent. |

Internal adaption's and extension to the existing single storey healthcare facility known as Elgar Unit, West Wing to create a 12 bed Psychiatric unit within the existing ward accommodation together with 2 new entrance extensions, and associated modifications to the mechanical and electrical services installations and drainage. This facility provides beds for those with extreme mental illness including paranoid schizophrenics, people with drug induced psychosis, manic depression etc. External hard and soft landscaping works were also carried out including the erection of a 5 metre high fence to stop patients getting out.The fence encloses a garden and an outdoor activity area. CCTV and panic alarms were also installed. |
