Training Policy
Thomas Vale operate a formal apprenticeship scheme on a group wide basis, working in partnership with the CITB, LSC and local colleges and universities in respect of both management and trades.
Trade and technical trainees are registered as apprentices with local Learning and Skills Councils and the Construction Apprenticeship Scheme (CAS) administered by the CITB, and attend local colleges and achieve recognised NVQ’s.
Their progress is monitored by the college and supported by our in house HR Management Function and in house Training Coordinator, who routinely visits trainees to monitor progress, attendance, attitude, timekeeping and discuss and resolves any queries.
Trainees are paid in accordance with the Nationally Agreed Rates of Payments and bonuses, expenses and over time as appropriate.
All college and exam fees are met by the company. In addition to the above, we also encourage Supply Chain Partners through our Forum Training subsidiary company, to involve themselves proactively in the delivery of work experience of trainees and to employ and train apprentices if appropriate.
