Historically one of Thomas Vales oldest markets, the Housing Division has seen rapid growth over recent years as the Government seeks to improve the affordable Housing stock, and increase the number of Affordable new homes for Rent & Homebuy, and Outright Sale, via Registered Social Landlords (RSL`s), and Local Authorities.
In 2007/8 the annual turnover for the Housing division will exceed £50m per annum.
It has done this by selecting a number of key clients who share the Thomas Vale philosophy of Partnering and "Continual Improvement".
Utilising the "in-house" skills of Dr. Richard O`Connor, it has worked with Clients and key supply chain partners to ensure:
- LEAN Procurement procedures
- Continuous Improvement
- Collaborative Planning Sessions
- Compliance with annual "Gershon Report" savings
It has firmly grasped the Government procurement Challenge and currently leads the market in the procurement that Incorporates:
- Partnering Contracts (PPC 2000 etc)
- Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)
- Thomas Vale Construction has always sought to lead the field in terms of its vision of the future
It currently has in excess of 12 Framework Agreements with a range of Housing Providers across the Midlands. It plays an active role in promoting the activities of the Housing Forum, and regularly hosts "Emerging Innovations "events, to ensure the growing knowledge of its clients.
Brandwood End, Birmingham
Waterloo Housing Association has begun a major regeneration programme in Brandwood End, Birmingham alongside Birmingham City Council. The five year project costing £17 million entails the demolition of the existing defective housing stock and the subsequent construction of over 160 new houses, bungalows and apartments.
Thomas Vale Construction have been selected to be involved in this prestigious housing development. Thomas Vale Construction demolished 6 existing dwellings and replacing them with 41 new build houses completed February 2008.

Frensham Way, Birmingham
Spiral Developments, a subsidiary of Sanctuary Housing Group chose Thomas Vale Construction to develop 9 new build apartments in the very popular suburb of Harborne, Birmingham. Utilising a traditional construction method the dwellings were completed in Autumn 2007, with the apartments being available for outright sale.

Australian Blocks, Shard End, Birmingham
Thomas Vale Construction were awarded the Framework Partnership with West Mercia Housing Group. As part of this framework, we have recently completed a 3 year programme which consisted of the construction of 133 new build houses, bungalows and apartments over a variety of different sites. The above mentioned site is a former Local Authority housing estate built in the 1960’s. Our client West Mercia Housing Group and ourselves have been working with Birmingham City Council to ensure its wholesale redevelopment. As part of this ongoing commitment, Thomas Vale employed 60 local trainees and assisted them to find their way into construction related trades.
