Coppice and Langley Primary School

Co-location of a 420 place Primary School (Coppice, with a 90 place SEN School [Langley]) on the site of existing Coppice School. Brick, render and cedar wall cladding and zinc roof selected following a detailed whole life costing exercise. The site is located in a protected woodland and extensive consultation took place to ensure planning permission was granted. Environmental strategies were developed and implemented regarding birds, bats and other wild life species on the site. The building is designed to be naturally ventilated with passive night time cooling via automatic louvres and utilising thermal masses of the building.

Coppice & Langley

St Judes C of E Primary School

The construction of a new school to replace the existing building. Construction is of a steel frame construction and reinforced concrete foundations with screeded precast concrete plank flooring. Structural steel frame walls comprising facing brick outer skin and blockwork inner skin with precast concrete sills, metal stud internal partition walls with steel beams supporting an aluminium standing seam insulated low pitched roof and a small area of timber joisted flat roof with sarnafil roof membrane covering.

Aluminium curtain walling, windows and internal finishings including suspended ceilings, shelving, notice boards, kitchen fittings, worktops, cupboards, hat and coat hooks, sanitary fittings. Works also included associated external works - roads, car parking, paved areas, playground areas, landscaped areas, fencing and gates, retaining walls, drainage and services.

St Judes

Treehouse, Surestart, Stoke

The construction of a new two storey Surestart Centre consisting of a nursery, an internal play area including a ‘Bungle Jungle’ community café. The centre also provides nursing support for the local community. External works included play equipment contained within soft play area.

Shortwood

New build curved, steel framed single storey school including external works and refurbishment of Grade 2 listed barn. Project also included extensions and refurbishment to existing nursery school and demolitions. On site (pre-construction), an existing pond was drained under environmental agency guidance which enabled the new school to be constructed. The pond was then reformed and refilled, again under environmental agency guidelines and licence.

BREEAM rating achieved was ‘very good’

Bewdley High School

The provision of a new modular school building consisting of a two storey Mainstream Secondary School with a Sports Hall, commissioned complete ready for occupation.

All associated external works comprising foundations, car parking, hard paving and play areas, soft landscaping, drainage, mains services, disconnections and services diversions.
