What are we doing?
We are already actively involved in the shadowing of the Main Board of Directors and other Senior Management Groups, and have a robust strategy for community cohesion events across the Midlands. We work together as ONE TEAM to ensure that we are delivering and setting the standard for future generations of the Thomas Vale Group.

Kemp Hospice selected as new charity partner
The FEB has selected Kemp Hospice as one of its charity partners for the coming 12 months. Kemp Hospice will now benefit from the efforts of the Future Enterprise Board through support at fundraising events, and through the annual Thomas Vale charity ball which this year will be held on 24 May 2013 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
Kemp Hospice provides a major support system for the local community and their primary goal is to provide palliative care and support, adding to the quality of life for their patients at the hospice and also to the patients’ carers. The Hospice has also recently launched its Bereavement Hub and KEMP for Kids – a special service that supports children and young people coping with bereavement.
Increasing the CR activity of the region
One of our main remits as a board, is to raise the awareness of the benefits and associated impacts that corporate and social responsibility can have on those who rely on the services of charitable establishments across the Midlands region. In 2011, we partnered with three charitable organisations including 2 social enterprises. The Emily Jordan Foundation, Forward 4 Work and Acorns Children's Hospice. We have undertaken and led on various initiatives since the formation of the board and have helped to raise over £15,000 to date with other partners.
Integration with Supply Chain Partners, Clients and Professionals
The Thomas Vale Supply Chain Partners have been huge supporters of the Future Enterprise Board from the outset. However we do believe that our friendships and relationships with supply chain partners; clients and professionals has strengthened ten-fold; allowing them input and participation into events which highlight not only the benefits of construction to the wider region, but also provides to them the opportunity to be more ‘involved’ with the business; this has been particularly well received by our supply chain
Business and group wide awareness
A key driver for the board was to ensure full trainee and young person integration from the outset – giving everyone across the Thomas Vale business the opportunity to be involved in helping to make a difference to how internal and external stakeholders view the business. This has been delivered though numerous communication channels including an online trainee and young person discussion forum, a series of team building and networking sessions and regular internal news updates.
Endorsements
Since its formation in 2010 the FEB has been endorsed by numerous industry professional bodies including the UKCG and Constructing Excellence. The board has assisted the senior management teams in various high profile events including a ministerial visit to discuss economic and social standing with Mark Prisk, MP and an appointment with HRH The Duke of York, Prince Andrew visit the business in June 2012. The Duke showed particular interest in the board and thought it was a ‘valuable initiative to help prepare young professionals to be the business leaders of the future.’
